                                                  Cemetery Investigations

Cemeteries are always interesting to investigate. I would like to stress the point that respect of property and others feelings and local laws should always be observed.  I've witnessed too many people that barge into a graveyard at night, their favorite drink in hand, and claim they are "ghost hunting".  I've also seen the effects of vandalism in what I would call significant historical areas.  Vandalism is not only disrespectful for those that were interned there but also to family members who come and visit. and in a lot of cases can permanently erase any type of research for the family and others.
                                                                  WARNING
***When we come on to a site that we know has been vandalyzed we will and do report it to local law enforcement.  We also help clean up such sites in order to preserve the area.***

We've found some good evidence in cemeteries, but also we've found its sort of a hit and miss  type of thing.  Seems to me there are about as many ghost stories about graveyards as there are graveyards.  Our team has also debunked at least a couple of the "stories" by just a little research in the area.
One such story was related to an alledged witch who was beheaded and buried with the ax.  Doing a little legwork, some reading, and talking to people familiar with the case discovered the alledged witch actually died of diptheria about 100 miles away from the area in question

Another cemetery we visited had the strangest thing I've ever seen.  We did all the test and got nothing , but what we saw was next to the base of one particular headstone, dated cir.1904 or 1905 at time of death, was what appeared to be a gopher hole and strewn about the hole was parts of the casket, such as hinges, handles etc...
Apparently the critter made its residence in or around the casket and didnt appreciate the craftsmanship of that era.

I again would like to stress the point of respecting cemeteries.  Most cemeteries do have signs posted as the visiting times and the rule of thumb is when the sun goes down, visiting hours are over.  It may be a good idea to do a bit of research and find the caretaker and ask permission if you plan on being there after hours.  Another good source would be the local police department, especially if your in a smaller town. They are the ones that patrol the area anyways and they do hear about stories of the area that they may be willing to share with you.
