Our Equipment
This is a list of equipment the P.R.I.M.A. Team uses on investigations.
Our equipment list will continue to grow as we do.
Items marked with *** are the minimum pieces of equipment we use in any preliminary or full investigation
Normal per/team investigations equipment includes
* 1 digital camera
* 1 Digital voice recorder
* EMF meter
plus
* 1-video camcorder per investigation
* 1-35mm camera per investigation
* 1- IR non contact thermometer per investigation
***Digital Camera***

CONCORD 4 MP OLYMPIA 5 MP SC-2100
This is a must have Item for us. Digital cameras can catch objects out of our normal sight such as infrared.
Still and video photography - using infrared, digital, night vision, and even disposable film cameras to capture evidence of possible visual manifestations, such as orbs, mist, apparitions, and ectoplasm
35 mm Camera

PENTAX K1000 KODAK
35mm can also pick up anomolies. a good one to use has infrared setting
***EMF METER***

This is a must have item for us. EMF (electomagnetic field) meters detect fluctuations in the magnetic field indicating the presesnce of things like ghost, spirits, and house wiring.
EMF measurement - using electromagnetic field meters to detect possible unexplained magnetic fields which some attribute to the presence of ghosts and spirits, and at times used to spirit communication
INFRA-RED NONCONTACT THERMOMETER

Temperature measurement - using infrared, and thermal cameras, imaging video cameras, and/or hand-held infrared surface and ambient temperature sensors to detect changes in the environment, such as "cold spots", which some believe accompany paranormal activity.
MULTI- METER /w thermal attachment

CRAFTSMAN BRAND W/THERMAL PROBE
We use this primarily to test all batteries before going out,(a dead battery at the wrong time is frustrating) also with this version it works as a stationary tempature gauge
***DIGITAL VOICE RECODER***

RCA/ RP5120-A RCA
A digital voice recorder for us is a must have item. It will pick up sounds that are out of our hearing range and though digital technology lets us hear it when played back. Cassettes recorders can be used also. Some models have a USB so you can download it straight to your computer(picture #1)---others may have to hook up to computer in a "line in" (picture #2--this one needs a cord with 2 male 1/8" stereo jacks)
Digital and analog audio recording - to capture anomalous audio, including voices and sounds that may be interpreted as electronic voice phenomena, which some theorize are attempts at communication by paranormal entities
***DIGITAL VOICE RECORDING SOFTWARE***
AUDICITY FREE DOWNLOAD and copy to a wav. or MP3 file for Windows Media Player.http://www.aaevp.com/index.htm
DIGITAL CAMCORDER
Jazz HSV188 /w Nightshot capability.
DXG--8 MP
Sony Handi-Cam with Night shot
Most also work as a digital still shot camera and also as a voice recorder.
HI-FI SUPER 8 VIDEO CAMERA/ 8mm cameras

SONY SUPER 8 Kodak 8mm magazine
We use these to record video,generally in a stationary position with a microphone attached to it to reduce noise
DOWSING RODS
I made a set of dowsing rods by clipping and straightening a wire clothes hanger and one end of each, I bent at a 90 degree angle for the handles. I used it on one Investigation with good results
Dowsing rods - usually constructed of brass and bent into an L-shape, dowsing rods may be used by those who feel they help indicate the presence of ghosts and spirits
history of dowsing http://www.dowsers.org/history.htm
***FLASHLIGHTS***

MINI-MAGLIGHT
We issue each member with one and the we have a couple with red lens filter, we also use IR flashlights.
2-Way Radios

These are issued 1 each to each team on an investigation. It helps keep the teams in constant real time contact. Our particular models have a selection of channels we can choose from.
Compass

The compass works somewhat the same as an EMF meter, It will detect disturbances in a magnetic field. If the area you are in has a high IRON content in the soil it may also give you false readings.
Misc.

HEADPHONES M.P. TOOL Modified guitar tuner Camera Tripods
We use headphones for listening to recorded EVPs'
Multi-tool is a nice thing to have on hand for general purpose
Modified guitar tuner will pick up sounds from a stationary position and alert through the LED lights. Works somewhat like a motion detector except detects noise
Camera Tripods/floor models and table top models
Maps and Atlas

We use an atlas (those $20 state atlases that even show cow trails) and county plat maps
these give give us good details to help reduce drive times, names of the owners of land in rural areas(to get permission)
Atlas, Maps--Free--$20
Various places
County Plat Books- about $22
at the court house recorders office
Motion Sensors

A set of Motion sensors. They will detect movement from solid or Infra-red source. We set them up at locations in the investigation area that we aren't physically in. Our particular models have an 80 degree sweep zone out to about 40'. They can be plugged into an outlet or run on a 9 volt battery.
First Aid Kit
We keep a first aid kit somewhere near our investigation site whether its in the vehical or at are control center, because ya never know when you may need it. With any luck at all it will get dusty
Electronic Technicians Tool Kit
We keep this along with us in case we need to adjust or fix any equipment on location
Portable Television AC/DC 10" x 8" x 8"

This item works well when we want to moniter one of our stationary camcorders. We can watch the screen while recording. It is able to plug into a 110 outlet or run on "D" cell batteries or we can plug it into a car cigerette lighter
